The ABNS Rising Leader Award recognizes and promotes both the accomplishments and potential for future achievement of those early in their career in the nursing certification industry. The ABNS Awards Committee believes that the achievements of individuals who excel in the work of nursing specialty certification should be recognized, celebrated and encouraged to raise awareness of these important roles.
Eligibility
Candidates for this award will be less than 40 years of age and have less than 5 years of experience in the credentialing industry. Nominees should have a demonstrated record of accomplishment and display leadership potential in the credentialing industry. A commitment to developing their skills in the field of specialty nursing certification should be documented in the application.
If a member of the ABNS Awards and Recognition Committee or their organizations are nominated, they must recuse themselves from discussion and voting in that category.
Criteria
A nominee’s support of specialty nursing certification will be evaluated according to the following broadly defined criteria:
Forty years old or younger
Less than five years in nurse credentialing industry
Demonstrated commitment to skills development
Demonstrated evidence of leadership within their role
Willingness to mentor others
Regarding Verification of Credentials ABNS does not verify certification credentials of individual certified nurses. To verify a credential, contact the certifying agency that granted the credential. ABNS does not administer certification programs.
