The ABNS Rising Leader Award recognizes and promotes both
the accomplishments and potential for future achievement of those early in
their career in the nursing certification industry. The ABNS Awards Committee
believes that the achievements of individuals who excel in the work of nursing
specialty certification should be recognized, celebrated and encouraged to
raise awareness of these important roles.
Candidates for this award will be less than 40 years of age
and have less than 5 years of experience in the credentialing industry. Nominees
should have a demonstrated record of accomplishment and display leadership
potential in the credentialing industry. A commitment to developing their
skills in the field of specialty nursing certification should be documented in
A nominee’s support of specialty nursing certification will be evaluated according to the following broadly defined criteria:
Forty years old or younger
Less than five years in nurse credentialing industry
Demonstrated commitment to skills development
Demonstrated evidence of leadership within their role
