    Session 4 [Exam Breach]

We Braved a Breach—and You Can Too: Learn from Our Board's Breach Experience to Create Your Own Response Plan

In an ideal world, an exam breach would never happen. But if it does, how ready is your organization to handle this huge disruptor? Walk through one certification board's experience with a breach for a high-stakes exam, day by day and month by month as staff rallied to address this crisis. We will lead you through our steps for how we worked with vendors and others to manage the event and communicate what happened. You'll learn from our multifaceted approach to further secure our intellectual property and raise awareness among constituents about the serious consequences of exam ethics violations.

    Session 5 [AI Panel]

All We Talk About is AI: What Does That Mean For Our Assessments and Exam Programs?

Artificial intelligence, or AI for short, is a hot topic these days, generating different reactions, questions, and considerations across the assessment industry. On one hand, there is excitement and expectations around enhanced productivity and efficiency in how we develop and deliver tests. On the other hand, it generates concerns and questions on the risks associated with AI tools, especially as it relates to security, intellectual property, and cheating concerns. But are there not shades of grey in considering the opportunities and threats AI brings to our industry? This panel will outline and dissect concerns and opportunities related to the use of AI tools, including generative AI, both from a test development and delivery perspective. We will discuss pros and cons, and engage the audience in thought provoking discussions on considerations related to the use of AI.

    Session 7 [DEI Panel]

Considerations for diversity, equity, and inclusion are not limited to a single timepoint during the assessment life cycle. In other words, a “set it and forget it” approach to addressing DEI in exam development is not sufficient. (e.g., during SME recruitment, item review, or review of item performance statistics). For example, bias in content could originate from many sources, such as content irrelevant language, cultural nuances, regional differences. Two key challenges for credentialing bodies are identifying and engaging key stakeholders across all assessment development activities, from job analysis to review of item and exam (test) performance statistics.

In this moderated panel session, credentialing experts will engage in a thoughtful discussion of DEI considerations across the exam development life cycle. By the end of this session, attendees will be able to identify and engage in discussions regarding key considerations related to DEI across the exam development life cycle. Attendees will also be able to consider potential updates to current processes and policies for SME engagement across the exam development life cycle.

    Session Objectives:

    • Attendees will be able to identify key considerations related to DEI across the exam development life cycle.
    • Attendees will be able to engage in discussions regarding DEI considerations across the exam development life cycle.
    • Attendees will be able to consider potential updates to current processes and policies to address DEI considerations across the exam development life cycle.
